The specter of Lacy Peterson attends the story of this missing person.  The superficial circumstances are so similar that one can’t help but make the connection.
The mother of two children and the local school lunch lady, Lisa Stebic, 37, went missing Monday, April 30, 2007.  Her husband, Craig Stebic, 41, said his wife was picked up from their home by an unknown person at about 6:30 p.m.  Further, he said he was working in the back yard and their children, ages 10 and 12, were out buying candy when their mother left.
Married for 14 years, Lisa and Craig have been going through a divorce, although they have continued to reside together with their children. Her car remains in the garage, but her cell phone and purse are missing. Her cell phone and credit cards haven't been used since the Monday she disappeared.
Lisa's attorney, Glenn Kahn, told police that on the day Lisa disappeared, she mailed him a petition asking that her husband be evicted from their home.  According to Kahn, the petition stated that Craig was "cruel, inconsiderate, domineering and verbally abusive."
According to the newspapers:
"In 1995, Craig Stebic was charged with two felony counts of unlawful use of a weapon after police stopped his vehicle about 1,000 feet south of two Lincolnshire schools at 9 in the morning.

Police found a 10-gauge double-barrel shotgun, a .44 magnum semi-automatic pistol, a Ruger Mini-14 assault rifle and an AK-47 semi-automatic assault rifle in his Toyota pickup.

He was also charged with four misdemeanor counts of unlawful use of a weapon, operating an unsafe motor vehicle and driving while his license was revoked."
Initially, the Plainville Deputy Police Chief Mark Eiting said there was no evidence of foul play, but reported “Police were called to the home in December, for a non-violent domestic trouble call, so it was a verbal altercation between Lisa and her husband.  No arrests, no battery."
Craig Stebic has refused to take a polygraph test.
Lisa’s friends and family built a findlisastebic.com web site and held a press conference to announce a $20,000 reward for information leading to her whereabouts.
Craig didn’t attend.
Craig said he’s been a “nervous wreck” over the disappearance of his wife.  "I haven't slept in three days," he said.
"Of course he's devastated, he's in shock,” Craig's sister, Jill Webb said.  "I can't imagine a worse nightmare for somebody to go through.  It's a waiting game.  It's a horrible waiting game."
While the search continues for his wife, Stebic said he was consoling his children and keeping his fingers crossed.  "I'd like to see her walk through the door right now," Stebic said.
On Monday, May 21, 2007, (the day of this writing) the police reported that Lisa’s blood had been found in the trunk of Craig’s car.
